But what if that public web API then makes requests to internal APIs or third-party external APIs? Where is the identity? Is it the end-user or the identity of the web API? Or both?

The real physical devices need a test automation tool which has the ability to integrate into the testing environment, full coverage, simple and quick to operate and can run the same test on many devices and mobile operating systems.
