Founding an app, or any business for that matter, is no easy task. As much as 90 percent of apps will be abandoned after a single use. Some estimate that 9,999 out of 10,000 apps will ultimately fail. Launching an app is daunting, and yet many do find success. So what makes the difference between a successful app and a failed app? Alissa Knight has many talents. Started hacking at the age of 13? Check. Arrested for hacking a government network at 17, only to subsequently work with the US intelligence community in cyber warfare (presumably to keep her on the right side)? Check. Serial entrepreneur now on her third company sale and exit – the first being sold when she was 20? Check? Hacking into a bank’s internal network through its CCTV cameras in the parking lot? Yes, that really did happen.
